Nominations for the prestigious Priscilla Mack Survivorship award are under way. Do you know a cancer survivor who inspires ... who is tirelessly devoted to the cause of cancer research … who promotes cancer prevention and survival education? Please tell us. She or he may be a candidate for the 2012 Miles for Moffitt Priscilla Mack Survivorship Award.

 

Initiated by the Miles for Moffitt Board of Directors, the annual award will be presented at the Seventh Annual Miles for Moffitt at USF on Saturday, May 12.

 

The award is named for Priscilla Mack, sponsorship chairperson for Miles for Moffitt. A breast cancer survivor, Priscilla personifies the essence of the award with her energy and tireless commitment to raising funds for Moffitt’s cancer research while emphasizing the importance of cancer screening and prevention. Priscilla not only built the sponsorship base for Miles for Moffitt, but has also personally contributed to the event which has raised more than $805,000 for Moffitt’s cancer research since 2006.

Nominee criteria:

  • Must be a cancer survivor
  • Shows outstanding commitment to the fight against cancer
  • Continually inspires those who have been diagnosed with cancer
  • Has undertaken the task of moving cancer research forward for survival and prevention of the disease by his/her fund-raising efforts and tireless dedication to find a cure
  • Shows great interest in educating the public about disease prevention and survival
  • Male or female survivors are eligible for this award
  • Must be willing to be present at the Survivor Celebration at the race May 12, 2012
