Miles For Moffitt

A Word From Our Organizers

H. Lee Moffitt & Karen Dalton

Thank you to all who made the Second Annual SunTrust Miles for Moffitt at USF a success!

Delaying the race one month due to wildfires and starting it one hour earlier did not deter over 2,000 participants from joining this great event on June 16, eager to begin the race at 7:00 am. Volunteers, runners, survivors and families demonstrated their support of Moffitt’s mission to “contribute to the prevention and cure of cancer.” There were no fires to put out on this beautiful day. The only loser is cancer. Together, the funds raised far exceeded the $50,000 raised last year - all which will go directly to the state of the art research being done at Moffitt.

Thank you to everyone for your personal commitment, whether you ran, volunteered or came for a loved one. Congratulations to the newly engaged 5K participants, Peter Doyle and Teri Johnson. You made this race personal in a way that is inspirational to us and we wish you many, many years of happiness.

This race belongs to all of you. It is not just another race, but a bridge bringing sponsors, patients and the community together. This is YOUR race! We will continue to host it and hope you will come back year after year to be a part of Moffitt’s mission to “contribute to the prevention and cure of cancer.”

We will see you all next year!

Sincerely,

Miles for Moffitt Board of Directors
